Theory
The theory is taught in school and academics, without practical experience and practical training used in real-world Companies.
Directness
Skills are built by direct doing the work
According to the book Ultralearning, In directness, you first work on skills then work on essential concepts.
Skills
Skills are what you gain in practical life, by actually doing what is needed to be done. Eg:
* You learn coding by building game
* You learn Video editing by editing a video
* You learn high-level design by reverse engineering other designers’ portfolios working in high-tech companies.
Devil is in the details
Observe the details and find the patterns.
Recognizing patterns
Experts become experts by recognizing patterns The point of consideration here is recognizing patterns :
* Designers can see errors with just a glance.
* Doctors know the condition of patients with his face
The more you do it, the more mental models you form. This model is the pattern of accurate outcomes in the same situation. Top-level artists learn these mental models to evolve their craft.
Immersive Learning
Suppose you want to learn time management.
1. First, you manage your time for 2 days
2. Simultaneously, you build a time log
3. Then, You analyze your mistakes on 3ed day
4. Lastly, You take the help of videos and any course
When you give a mock test, practice it in a library that way you would build your antigens for the disturbance happening during the exams.
When you play chess, practice all the possible moves and practice to do it in an environment of maximum disturbance and bullying, which be a simulation of your tournament where other teams will cheer your opponent and bully, but you have already trained yourself to not be affected by them and focus on your game.
When you pitch, train yourself in an environment of the audience & judge doing counter questions toward you. Face them and build resistance so that when you are on the battleground you perform your best.
